|
|
The speedo has stopped working on my Veypor. The rest of the unit functions properly but the speed stays on zero. I have read through all the speedo posts on this forum and have checked that all the configeration values are in place. Whatever magnet I pass over the sensor still gives no response.
I have checked the wiring harness and can see no problems so I now strongly suspect that the sensor has been damaged whilst fitting a new rear tyre.
Is replacing the wiring harness the answer to my problem?
Thanks |

| You can buy a new harness, or you can send your existing harness, or even just the speed sensor in for repairs. |

Just for reference, how many wires in the harness are connected to with the speed sensor? Does it connect to the +5V as well as the speed sensor input and ground?
Where can the old speed sensor be removed from the harness? Assuming it needs to be cut and the replacement spliced back in, since there didn't seem to be any separate connectors involved in the harness for the sensor. |

The speed sensor has 3 wires: +12V, GND, speed pulse output.
You can cut the wire anywhere along the speed sensor section and then splice in the new one. Wrap it with black tape or heat shrink, etc. |
