I have recently completed a biodiesel conversion using a Yanmar clone engine and a Royal Enfield frame. I just thought I'd let others know that you can set up a Veypor to record RPM's on an engine that has no electrical system at all!
To record RPM, we used a duplicate speed sensor, with a 10k resistor soldered across the red and black wires. Veypor tech people (Nathan) worked with me to get it to work, and I mounted the sensor above my flywheel on the engine, and drilled and glued a magnet into the flywheel. So every turn of the engine records one revolution. I wired it into the regular white wire rpm sensor.
It works extremely well, and I just wanted to let others know that you can record RPM no matter what kind of engine you have!
Lastly, my thanks to Nathan and the Veypor support staff. Awesome job! |
